SAINT MARY'S CHURCH
The only church to retain its original appearance, this site is steeped in history and houses a pub-restaurant.
Built in 1697, it is the only 17th century church to have retained its original appearance. The anecdote to remember? Arthur Guinness was married here in 1761 and Theobald Wolfe Tone was baptized in 1763. The church was closed to the public in 1986 and then desecrated. And, after having seen Arthur Guinness get married, they now see pints of the famous black beverage, since it now houses a pub-restaurant obviously called ... "The Church"! A detour is necessary to see a church like no other.
