ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS
School of Medicine and Surgery, one of the best in Ireland, in the emblematic monument to the 1916 Dublin Rebellion.
Founded in 1784, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) began training doctors in its medical school in 1866. A charter gave it jurisdiction to control surgical practice and research. An emblematic monument of the 1916 rebellion, occupied by Irish troops (the columns still bear bullet marks), it is home to one of the country's best medical and surgical schools with an international reputation.
