PEARSE MUSEUM - ST ENDA'S PARK
Museum dedicated to the memory of Patrick Pearse housed in a former Gaelic-language school surrounded by parkland
This former school dedicated to the learning of the Gaelic language (then called Scoil Éanna) was built in 1840 and was directed between 1910 and 1916 by Patrick Pearse (1879-1916), one of the most famous fighters of the Irish independence. Today, the school, which closed permanently in 1935, has been transformed into a museum dedicated to the memory of its former headmaster. It is surrounded by a park with rivers and waterfalls.
