JAMES JOYCE TOWER & MUSEUM
Museum housed in the Martello Tower, displaying original copies, letters and other objects by James Joyce.
The James Joyce Museum is housed in the Martello Tower. In this tower facing the sea, two floors display some original copies and letters of the famous author. Some of the objects on display include a walking stick, a tie given to Samuel Beckett, a death mask, etc. The tower was used as the setting for the first chapter ofUlysses, his most important work. The highlight is the attempt to reconstruct the room as it is described in the first page of the novel.
