ARDGILLAN CASTLE & GARDENS
A superb castle in Gregorian and Victorian styles, with elegant rooms and a collection of maps.
The magnificent Ardgillan Castle, built in 1738, combines Georgian and Victorian styles. On the ground floor are the elegant living room, dining room, library and billiard room. Kitchens and storerooms are in the basement. The first floor is used for exhibitions, including one featuring a collection of maps dating from the 17th century. But what impresses the most are the exteriors which offer beautiful walks and an infinite panorama on the Irish Sea.
