CASTLE FERNS
Impressive castle founded in the 13thby Earl William Marshall, a site steeped in history and featuring a tea room.
Founded in the 13th century by Earl William Marshall, this impressive castle has a rich and troubled history: it belonged to an Irish family in the 14th and 15th centuries, but Oliver Cromwell's troops stormed it in 1536. Thomas Kieran of Dublin invested it in the 17th century and gave it to the Donovans, the last owners. For those who would like to visit it, a free guided tour of about 30 minutes is available on request. A tea-room on the spot will allow you to enjoy the end of your afternoon.
