BISHOP'S PALACE
A remarkable palace, a site steeped in history and home to a museum dedicated to the history of Waterford from the to the century.
The palace was built in 1743 by the Anglo-German architect Richard Casteles, commissioned by the then Anglican bishop Charles Este. In 1902 it became a boarding house for underprivileged children and then, from 1969, offices of the municipality. Now a museum, it is part of a complex of 18th century buildings in the heart of the Viking Triangle. It is dedicated to the history of Waterford from the 18th to the 20th century. The visit allows you to discover the large furnished reception rooms, the paintings, the silverware and the glassware of the 18th century.
