DURRUS FARMHOUSE CHEESE
A must-see cheese dairy in Durrus, a good place to discover traditional cheese-making techniques.
Jeffa Gill has been producing this famous raw milk farmhouse cheese since 1979, using a traditional method. Initially conceived for personal consumption, production has grown to become a nationally recognised brand. Durrus is one of the best selling cheeses in Ireland. The cheese factory, whose traditional techniques have been preserved, is open to all, and you can watch the production through a glass window (the best time to go is mid-week, around 11am).
