Former military barracks housing an exhibition on the history of the town, the region and the Fenian uprising.
This former military barracks, with its original and eccentric architecture that inevitably brings to mind Bavarian castles, belonged to the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC). It was built in response to the Fenian uprising of 1867. It now houses an exhibition on the history of the town and surrounding area, including the Fenian Rising, and the life of local hero, politician Daniel O'Connell.
