Gleninsheen burial site dating from 1,500 B.C. and set in a galactic rock field, to be visited at Black Head.

Archaeologists believe that the Burren region was inhabited as early as 5000 BC. There is little evidence of this, with the exception of several burial monuments (about 70 in the area). The Gleninsheen burial site (1,500 BC) can be seen alone in a field of galactic rocks. It consists of three sections of rock covered by a weathered chamber with an opening to the west. This shelter-sized dolmen, the last resting place of a single man, is striking in its strength and simplicity of precariousness.
