The Ballycroy National Park is a protected wilderness park, created in 1998, which covers more than 11,000 hectares of mountains, moors, but especially peat bogs, including Owenduff, one of the last active peat bogs in Western Europe. The lakes also have their place, and offer magnificent views of the surroundings. The park is composed of an imposing mountain range, Nephin Beg, dominated by Slieve Carr, culminating at 721 meters. It is a real paradise, with many marked trails, for wilderness lovers!
