Knock Shrine, known for the apparition of Our Lady on 21 August 1879, is now a religious shrine. Spread over 100 acres of landscaped parkland, the site includes five churches where pilgrims come to worship, including the apparition chapel, the parish church and the Knock Basilica, as well as a museum and religious bookshop. Today, the Knock Shrine Society and its volunteers work to develop the shrine.
