ST EUNAN'S CATHEDRAL
A Gothic cathedral to visit, with Stations of the Cross panels painted in a style reminiscent of Art Nouveau.
From afar, and especially at night, this Gothic cathedral rises from the surrounding hillside and, since 1901, has been elegantly protecting the town of Letterkenny. From up close, the most striking feature of this rather sober construction is the beautiful spire with its gargoyles. The stained glass windows are quite fine, and the fourteen panels of the Stations of the Cross - a minor curiosity - are painted in a style reminiscent of Art Nouveau. Nothing transcendent, but a must-see if your route takes you to Letterkenny.
