GLEBE HOUSE & GALLERY
Museum in Derek Hill's former home, featuring a collection of paintings by the artist, Kokoschka, Picasso...
One can be a contemporary art enthusiast and ignore the painting of the very academic Derek Hill. However, the man is particularly clever. During his lifetime, he transformed his 19th century house (it was built in 1828) into a museum. We are therefore invited to admire his Regent-style home decorated with William Morris wallpaper and Japanese and Islamic art. As for the incredible collection of paintings, it includes works by our host Derek Hill, but also by Kokoschka, Picasso and the naive painters of Tory Island.
