OSU CASTLE
A historic site in Accra, key to triangular trade and home to the offices of the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Also called the Castle or Christiansborg Castle. Although remote, it can be seen quite easily from Independence Square. It was built in 1659 by the Danes and served as the residence of colonial governors from 1876, when the capital was transferred from Cape Coast to Accra. Since then, it has been the seat of the country's government for a few short periods. This historic site, a key place of triangular trade, now houses the offices of the President of the Republic.
