This downtown restaurant is very popular. The restaurant's romantic setting and high-quality, meticulously-prepared fish dishes contribute to its popularity. Local and traditional recipes are revisited by the chef, who draws his inspiration from Japanese culinary art. Try our turbot carpaccio with orange sauce, shellfish ravioli and sesame-crusted tuna steak. The menu changes daily according to what has been bought from the fishermen in the morning and at the market. Desserts are also highly recommended.

The food at Antica Ghiacceretta was exceptional. I had the seafood risotto and Irish steak. My friend had the risotto and Galician octopus. We could not fault either dish. Full of flavour, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. From the minute we walkthrough the door we were greeted by the friendly staff and made very welcome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. If you only eat out once in Trieste then this is the place to dine. Thank you ????

Zuppa buona ma non eccellente. Sogliola basic. Antipasto misto non convincente. Locale pessimo per gusto dell'arredamento.

Super! Gli spaghetti alle vongole con bottarga e pistacchi sono fantastici, vi faranno voglia di tornare spesso in questo ottimo ristorante. Eccellenti tutti gli antipasti, consiglio sia il crudo (varie tartar di pesce fresco), che le tapas (meravigliose le alici su polenta con cipolla caramellata). Per concludere merita davvero provare la creme brulee con topping di fragole (o mandarini, a seconda delle stagioni), tagliati a fette sottilissime e caramellati. Porzioni generose. Ottimo anche il servizio, puntuale (non si aspetta mai a lungo) e grande cortesia.
