MAURO MARTORIATI WORKSHOP
Entering the workshop of Mauro Martoriati is to enter the intimacy of this artist born in Rome in 1957 who began with painting and then joined the sculpture. In this workshop where the artist works throughout the day at the back of the large main room, you will walk between wrought iron sculptures representing human silhouettes, design objects such as interior lamps, tables and tables. Ask Mauro to let you discover his paintings on the first floor, a true hidden treasure where his works, mostly exposed throughout his career, are piled up each other. In the 1990 s, Mauro Martoriati lived in New York where he discovered the drift of making several colors of the same spectrum on canvas. He then lived in Madrid and Paris before settling in Trieste in 2013 that he described as a «oily city, which stopped over time and did not allow itself to be taken into possession by modern times.» It therefore inspires a classic but revisited painting. Call her partner mariaclara before pushing the workshop door, she speaks French and can tell you more.
