CIVICO MUSEO SARTORIO
Elegant villa with garden and a prestigious collection of art and furniture.
This elegant late eighteenth-century villa, surrounded by a large garden, belonged to the rich merchant Pietro Sartorio, a distinguished representative of the Triestine bourgeoisie. Members of the family, art lovers, related the house to a prestigious collection of works of art and furniture. A collection of drawings, sketches, paintings and sculptures testifies to the craze of the time for the Empire, Biedermeier and Neo-Gothic styles. Among the most interesting pieces is the unique collection of 254 drawings by Giambattista Tiepolo.
