PIAZZA SANT'ANTONIO NUOVO
Square in the extension of the Canal Grande with important religious monuments.
In the extension of the Canal Grande, this square is the center of the Borgo Teresiano, created in the eighteenth century. Within its perimeter there are two important religious monuments, the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Spyridon and the Diocesan Church of Sant'Antonio. In this neighborhood (via San Lazzaro, 8) there was the house and the office of Edoardo Weiss, the famous disciple of Freud, who imported psychoanalysis to Italy and was the analyst of the great Triestine poet Umberto Saba.
