NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Archaeological museum representing a vast patrimony of Roman times of the surroundings.
This archaeological museum, one of the most important in Northern Italy, exhibits a vast patrimony of Roman artifacts from Aquileia and the surrounding area. The exhibition is thematic and the pieces are well displayed. To see, in particular: a gilded bronze head of the emperor Maximinus, splendid mosaics well preserved, the hull of a Roman ship, a rich collection of gems. Inaugurated on August 3, 1882, this museum completes admirably the visit of the sites of the city.
