DUOMO DI SANTA MARIA ASSUNTA
Cathedral with 9 statues above the entrance and a colossal sculpture in a niche
Built from 1290 by Master Giovanni and Griglio da Gemona, the cathedral surprises by its imposing facade pierced by rosettes, decorated with a Gallery of the Magi with nine statues above the entrance and especially a colossal sculpture of Saint Christopher in a niche (7 m high!). Seriously damaged by the earthquake of 1976, it was scrupulously rebuilt, even if, inside, the slight inclination of the columns reminds us of the disaster.
