Church with a gothic facade in white stone, a real little jewel
Saint Anthony Abbot is the patron saint of butchers and pork butchers: no wonder that the Friulian country of ham has dedicated a church to him! This one is a real little gem. Behind its discreet gothic façade in white Istrian stone with a rose window, it conceals three sumptuous cycles of frescoes. The first two, by Vitale da Bologna, date from the 14th century, the third is by Pellegrino da San Daniele who worked there between 1497 and 1522.
