DUOMO SAN MARCO
Cathedral housing paintings and several works of the Renaissance
A visit to the cathedral will interest painting lovers thanks to the paintings and frescoes of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries that decorate it. Built in the 13th century, it houses several works by Giovanni Antonio de Sacchis, known as the Pordenone (1484-1539), the most important painter of the Friulian Renaissance: the altarpieces of San Marco and the Mercy, as well as the holy figures on one of the pillars, including that of St. Roch, which is considered to be his self-portrait. Next to the Duomo, the 72 m high campanile has been declared a national monument.
