FESTE VIGILIANE
Numerous folkloric ceremonies take place until the celebration of the patron saint of the city, San Vigilio, on June 26.
Many events animate the city of Trento around the 26th of June, day of its patron saint, San Vigilio. The festival ends intensely with many traditional ceremonies. Among these, the Palio dell'Oca (boat race on the Adige), processions in traditional and religious costumes, fireworks, shows. The must-see is the Ciusi and Gobj fight over polenta! The tonca is a burlesque re-enactment of a medieval punishment: the condemned is imprisoned in a cage floating on the Adige.
