Square, one of the most beautiful in Italy, with a remarkable fountain and various monuments to Trento.
The great square of Trento is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. You can admire the cathedral, of course, but also the Palazzo Pretorio, the Renaissance houses (Cazuffi case) with 16th century frescoes and, majestically, the Neptune fountain created in 1768 by the sculptor Francesco Antonio Giongo de Lavarone. The bronze statue of Neptune with tritons, seahorses and other sculptures was made by Stefano Saltiero. It was the first fountain bringing drinking water inside the fortified enclosure of Trento.
