CHIESA DEI DOMENICANI
An ancient church of the XIII century, rich in history, in Bolzano.
This church was built at the end of the 13th century, enlarged in the 15th century, half destroyed by the bombings of the last war and finally restored. During the Napoleonic era, the convent next to it was suppressed, and the church, stripped of all its altars and furniture, was transformed into a depot, then into a military store. Precious frescoes, including the Triumph of Death, by the school of Giotto of Padua, can be found inside the 14th-century Chapel of San Giovanni. Note the vaulted ceiling decorated with rococo stucco above the choir.
