Located in a small street near the two medieval towers, this establishment has a very good reputation among the inhabitants. It offers a menu of traditional local cuisine, with platters of local cheeses and cold meats, tagliatelle, stuffed pasta and escalope bolognese, as well as a menu of international cuisine extending the range of dishes to include risottos, entrecote maître d'hôtel and kidneys. Tasty, fair and unpretentious cuisine; attentive and charming staff. It is advisable to make a reservation.

Personale gentilissimo, bel locale, carne ottima, però per celiaci pochissima scelta.

Davvero un gioiellino in centro. Posto bellissimo, molto intimo, camerieri simpatici e preparati. Abbiamo mangiato i tortellini in brodo, entrecote e antipasti davvero buoni! Da non dimenticare la torta di mela ????

I must admit I’m biased as I’ve known the chef Jean David for many years but I was surprised today to find him and his food evolved so much in the past years, more mature and rounded than ever before.
If you really want to experience Bologna you must have a lunch or dinner at Grassilli, it represents the town and its people, with all its controversies and hidden gems.
Like all good things in life you need to be deliberate and book your table well in advance otherwise you risk not being able to experience it but a little bit of planning will reward you.
As for the food , I’m not in a position to give you any advice as I liked all of it but if can try to share the food and taste as much as possible, let them surprise you.
A personal suggestion, leave you phones behind, go there with someone you care about and just let the food enrich your conversation, you’ll end up with some great memories.
