SANTUARIO DELLA MADONNA DI SAN LUCA
Sanctuary located at the top of Monte Guardia with a beautiful view of the city
In a dominant position at the top of Monte Guardia (289 m above sea level), this sanctuary represents one of the symbols of the city. The present church was built between 1723 and 1757 and replaced a previous building from the 15th century. A small museum shows the devotion to the Marian cult. Beautiful view of the city, its red roofs and the Apennines. On October 4th, a procession accompanies the miraculous icon of the Virgin and Child (12th-13th centuries) to the town centre.
