Along one of the busiest streets of the historic centre is the Ca' de Ven, in Italian casa del vino (house of wine), a warm place where locals and tourists alike meet in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. It is housed in a building dating back to 1542 and has a magnificent setting, with a succession of large halls, each one reminiscent of an old pharmacy with high wooden shelves, a covered garden and a wine storehouse with its barrels. On the menu: pasta, grilled meats or a piadina accompanied by a good glass of wine.

The food looked great, was seasoned great, unfortunately the raw ingredients were of low quality. The meat had alot of tendons and was sinewy, one portion was basically unedible, other was quite fine, although needed alot of work to get the good meat out, third one was mediocore.
The staff is a bit hasty, big dissapointment was the language barrier and attitude of the lady at reception.
The strongest point is great atmosphere… Overally I would not recommend to eat there, but if you want to go for a drink it’s a must visit place in Ravenna.

It is a local with two large dining areas and an entrance with some tables and a lot of wines on the wall
The prices are fair for the food and wine.
Risotto and pasta were perfect al dente but we missed the little extra in taste we got the day before in an Osteria in Rimini.
The Castrato (male sheep côtelette) were a bit dry. My beef cottlette on the hot stone was perfect rare but missed a bit a special meet you get sometimes when you got a selected piece from a particular cow race.
The decoration of vegetables, potatoes and bred was too much for me but very good.
Service was fast, but we missed a bit the time for explanation and specially a wine list. You depend on the waiter or if you know a wine yourself.
As a wine lover I expected a better explanation and recommendations, but I have not been asked my preferences.
Prices for the wines were good although and we got a bag to take the not finished red with us.
