MUSEO ARCIVESCOVILE
Museum with valuable objects in Ravenna.
Located on the first floor of the former Palazzo dell'Arcivescovado, this museum has valuable objects, some of which come from the former Paleochristian cathedral, which has been replaced by an 18th century building. There are lapidary remains, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' work, and above all the Cattedra di Massimiano (Maximian's pulpit), the work of Alexandrian artists of the 6th century, considered one of the most important ivory sculptures of all time. La cappella di sant'Andrea, for its part, has superb mosaics from the 6th century.
