ROCCA MALATESTIANA
The Rocca Malatestiana is one of the largest and best preserved fortresses of the Malatesta family in the area
It is one of the Malatesta family's fortresses, among the largest and best preserved in the region. Rearranged several times between the 12th and 16th centuries, it is called "Rocca del Sasso" (of the Pebble) because of its position perched on a rocky spur that dominates the surroundings. It is the birthplace of Malatesta da Verucchio, the leader of the family, who conquered Rimini and whom Dante talks about in the Divine Comedy. The Sala Grande, decorated with the Malatesta family tree, the dungeons and the parapet walk can be visited.
