ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
The museum is housed in an ancient monastery and contains evidence of the Villanovian civilization.
Located in a former monastery, this museum houses evidence of the Villanovian civilization. The surroundings of Verucchio have indeed revealed important Villanovian necropolises comprising a total of about 500 tombs dated from the 9th to the 7th century BC. The material found includes weapons, amber and gold jewellery, pottery and a wooden throne engraved with figurative motifs. It appears that the hill of Verucchio was occupied by a villanovian village which derived its prosperity from its location along the trade routes to the sea.
