BASILICA DI SAN MARINO
Basilica with remarkable paintings and statue, one of the main religious buildings of San Marino.
One of the main religious buildings of San Marino, dedicated to the deacon San Marino who, fleeing Christian persecution, settled on Mount Titano in 301 and founded the community at the origin of the republic. Built by the Bolognese architect Antonio Serra on the foundations of a Romanesque church, the basilica was completed at the beginning of the 19th century. The facade has a neoclassical style. Many visitors come here to admire the canvases painted between the 17th and 19th centuries, as well as the statue of San Marino by Tadolini.
