CASA BAREZZI
House of Verdi's adoptive father and mentor in Busseto
This is the home of Verdi's "adoptive father" and mentor. Here Verdi spent the happiest years of his life and met his future wife. The rooms have been refurbished with the original furniture that was salvaged, and the furniture, frames and piano have been returned to their original locations. The house exhibits autographs, portraits, posters, booklets, etc. The first public performance of Giuseppe Verdi also took place in this house in 1830. As for Antonio Barezzi, he died in Busseto in 1867, with his faithful protégé Verdi at his bedside.
