REGGIA DI COLORNO
Residence with gardens designed by the French architect Ennemond Petitot
In the Versailles style, this residence was home to the Bourbons and then, in the 19th century, to Marie-Louise of Austria. The gardens were designed by the French architect Ennemond Petitot, who also created the ducal chapel. When Napoleon annexed the Duchy of Parma to France in 1807, this residence was declared an "imperial palace", which explains the frescoes celebrating Napoleon's power. It is also the seat of the Alma, the International School of Italian Cooking, and is the venue for glorious cooking courses.
