COMMUNAL PALAZZO
Palace where the representatives of the Cispadian Republic adopted the flag for the first time
Begun in 1414 and reworked several times, it now has an 18th century appearance. Inside is the Sala del Tricolore: it was in this room that in 1797 the representatives of the Cispadan Republic first adopted the green-white-red tricolour flag, which was to become the official flag of Italy. To the left of the palace, the Torre del Bordello, built in 1498, is the highest point of Reggio with its 51 meters high. It owes its name to a brothel which, until the 19th century, occupied the nearby alleyway.
