SAN DOMENICO CHURCH
Monument with two ramps of the XVIIIth century sheltering two formidable paintings.
A spectacular two-ramped porch leads to this 18th-century monument, built between 1765 and 1788 and designed by the architect Carlo Marchionni, who worked on the sacristy of St. Peter's in Rome, and which houses two wonderful paintings: a Crucifixion by Titian (one of the most reproduced paintings) and an Annunciation by Guerchin (a switch illuminates both frames). The Piazza del Plebiscito below with its monumental fountain, which dates from the 19th century, is one of the most beautiful in the city.
