SAN CIRIACO CATHEDRAL
Beautiful church offering a superb view of the city and the sea.
It is one of the most beautiful churches in the Marche, built between the 11th and 12th centuries on the site of a pagan site on a hill overlooking the town. It is dedicated to the Eastern saint who was tortured with molten lead. It combines Romanesque forms with Byzantine influences, while its 13th century portal is decorated with Gothic reliefs and rests on the backs of two beautiful lions. The view over the city and the sea is superb. However, you will have to climb for quite a while before reaching the building.
