TRAJAN ARC
Imposing Roman triumphal arch with a decoration of reliefs and inscriptions.
The Roman triumphal arch with its Corinthian columns is of great elegance. It was built in 115 AD by Apollodorus of Damascus in honour of the Emperor Trajan, who was responsible for the development of the port of Ancona and left his mark on the city. You can admire this imposing arch, decorated with reliefs and inscriptions, as you approach the port of Ancona (a busy port from which ferries leave from central Italy to many destinations: Croatia, Albania, Greece...).
