PALAZZO DUCALE
Palace with a remarkable collection of Renaissance masterpieces.
The Ducal Palace, completed in 1482 by Frederick of Montefeltro, is one of the oldest palatial architectures of the Renaissance, with its triumphal arch loggias flanked by two towers, its magnificent inner courtyard and its monumental staircase, one of the very first of its kind. The palace also includes the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, the Museo Archeologico, the Museo della Ceramica and the sotterranei (underground passages). The collection includes a remarkable collection of Renaissance masterpieces, notably by Piero della Francesca.
