The most fascinating fortress of Ascoli Piceno preserving the style of a medieval fortress.
This fort is one of the most spectacular examples of Renaissance architecture in Italy and one of the most fascinating sites in Ascoli Piceno. It has been open to visitors since November 2010 after being beautifully restored. Over the centuries, the fortress was destroyed and then rebuilt several times when Galeotto Malatesta, commander of the Ascalon army, had the building reinforced in 1349 and rebuilt in the style of a typical medieval fortress, thus giving it the name Forte Malatesta.
