ZELEN PAZAR

The "Green Market" (Зелен Пазар) is the largest market on Skopje's west bank, with around 700 stalls partly under covered halls: fruit, vegetables, clothing, telephony, etc. It is located in the city center, 200 m south of the Combattante park, on the corner of 11-ti-Oktomvri street and Kočo-Racin boulevard. It owes its name to the green-painted stalls, a tradition found in all the countries of the former Yugoslavia. Although it is reminiscent of the huge Pit Bazar on the eastern bank, it is in worse condition.
