This national museum (Музеј на Комунистичката Партија на Македонија/Muzej na Komunističkata Partija na Makedonija, Muzeu I Partisë Komunisté të Maqedonisë) is rarely open, but is housed in a beautiful 19th-century Ottoman house. It was here that the Communist Party of Vardar Macedonia was founded underground, on Tito's initiative, on March 19, 1943. Inside: reconstruction of the small founding congress room and ethnographic exhibition.
