This jewelry store founded in 1924 belongs to the Talevi family, one of the only two families in the city, along with the Fiveli family, to master the technique of "Ohrid beads"(Ohridski biseri). These are offered in jewelry (necklaces, bracelets ...) or filigree (silver filaments). A Talevi pearl necklace was even worn by Queen Elizabeth II in 2001. Beware, several other stores offer fake pearls imported from China and imitation silver filigree from Turkey. Here, everything is homemade and the manufacturing secrets are well kept.
