UZUNOV HOUSE
This beautiful mid-19th century Bulgarian-Ottoman house (Куќата на Христо Узунов/Kuḱata na Hristo Uzunov) belonged to the Bulgarian revolutionary leader Hristo Dimitrov Uzunov (1878-1905) who headed the local branch of the Macedonian Internal Revolutionary Organization (MIRO or VMRO) after the failure of the Ilinden uprising in 1903. Managed by the National Museum of Ohrid, it serves as a memorial dedicated to the Bulgarian insurrectionary movements in Macedonia in the 19th and 20th centuries, presented here as "Macedonian". The visit is not essential.
