This fortress (Џепане) was built on behalf of the Ottomans in 1876. Its current name is a distortion of the Turkish word cephane, meaning "ammunition". Used by the Yugoslav army until 1991, it is now completely abandoned, overgrown and its gates closed to visitors. Nearby, 300 m to the southwest, is the so-called "aircraft" site (Авионите/Avionite) with two Republic F-84 Thunderjet fighter-bombers supplied by the USA to Yugoslavia in 1953. These are disintegrating year by year, covered in graffiti.
