MONUMENT DE LA LIBERTÉ
Located at the top of the hill of Lokubija, 524 m above sea level, this monument (Споменик на Слободата/Spomenik na Slobodata) commemorates "the battles of the Macedonian people" between 1903 and 1945. Inaugurated in 1981, and today in poor condition despite a restoration in 2004, it consists of an open-air theater surrounded by walls with irregular shapes decorated with 335m2 of mosaics. This complex was designed by architect Radovan Rađenović (1940-2021) and painter Gligor Čemerski (1940-2016), both natives of Skopje. Beautiful views of the region are enjoyed here.
