GARE ROUTIÈRE DE BEROVO (АВТОБУСКА СТАНИЦА БЕРОВО)
This small pedestrian square (Плоштад Димитар Беровски) is the center of Berovo. It is named after the Macedonian Bulgarian revolutionary Dimitar Pop-Georgiev Berovski (1840-1907), whose bronze statue has stood here since 2012, in front of the Refresh cafe to the south. A native of the city, he fought against the Ottomans and the Greek clergy for the attachment of Slavic Macedonia to Bulgaria. The square is bordered by the Orthodox church of the Nativity of the Mother of God (1922) and its belfry (1930), to the north, as well as by the covered market, to the east.
