POSTE-FRONTIÈRE DE DEVE BAIR-GJUEŠEVO

This is the main crossing point between North Macedonia and Bulgaria. It's located at the Deve Bair/Деве Баир pass (1,167 m above sea level), next to the Bulgarian village of Gjueševo/Гюешево (180 inhabitants, 938 m above sea level). Despite major investments by the European Union, customs officials here make very little effort. a 30-minute wait for four cars is a common occurrence. A sign that relations between Skopje and Sofia are still not at their best.
