Set in the city park above Kartovo, "Hostel at Spiro's" (Гостилница Кај Спиро) offers beautiful views of the old town and Mount Osogovo. Here they serve Kratovska pastrmajka, the local version of "Macedonian pizza" with dried pork and served with a hot pepper. You should also try the mezelek, a stew of offal. If you're lazy to go up the hill, Aleksandrija (Александрија), Kanu (Кану) and Kuze (Кузе) restaurants offer almost the same menu, down in the old town.
